I've dumped the photos I took at Carronade last Saturday on ImageShack

The gout that cut short my visit to the show is still affecting me so I've just dumped the lot into the album so there are probably at least a couple of duplicates.

Carronade doesn't have the nice table signs showing who's putting on the game and giving a title that some other shows have, so I've included shots of whatever signage was around. Apologies, it may not be obvious which signs go with which tables!

The first two shots I took are not of games being played but of adventure books. Think "Wizard of Firetop Mountain" for primary school kids and smart toddlers!! As I said to the lady who created and was selling them,"Where the heck were these when my kids aged 4 and 7 wanted to play RPGs like Daddy ran every Friday night!? :)

Thanks for those and some nice games on show 8) .

Some nice pictures there.
Some I don't recognise, while others I really likes aren't pictured.

That tells me there was a lot on show.
I suspect I missed many tables by not picking my way through the densely packed centre.

I did notice the change that Ithoriel mentions.
Far less signage explaining the games.
It would be nice for attendees to know:
 * What's the setting.
 * What rules are in use.
 * Who is putting the game on (You are there to publiscise your club- right?).

There seemed a particular lack of Participation Game hosts soliciting their services.

I certainly enjoyed a chat with a few of the clubs staging visually impressive games.
 * Westerhope's big Blenhiem.
 * Dumfries' Mediterranean WW2 Naval.
 * West Cumbria's Alamo (Always a big project for the scenery builders).
 * Glasgow Warhogs Harbour Commando Raid (Even bigger scenery).

I spotted a couple of rising trends among the younger (??) attendees.
 * Lots of "Dwarfcore" dress and hair choices (Diggy diggy hole).
 * A big rise in "skirmish in a scrapyard" style games.

Thanks for posting your pictures Mike, some great looking games there  :-bd

Interesting to see our "Celtic Fringe" scenario book on the table at the Dingwall club's 28mm Battle of Alford refight.....doesn't look like they were using FK&P rules though.

Cheers

Sympathy with gout. I've met it, and I don't even drink!
I don't drink coffee to wake up. I wake up to drink coffee.

Well, there certainly some variety there!

What's going on with the battleship on the last two photos?

The wrecked sub and underwater scene is Gothenburg's Victorian Undersea participation game.

Thanks for the pics, Mike, enjoyed them. As always thanks for photographing the signage as well.
As the apostles have said, pleased to see one of our books on the table. I believed you are mentioned in it. ;)

If there is any positive thing about gout at all, there is good evidence that it has a significant positive correlation with general intelligence. Doubt that is worth the pain to either you or Alexander but thought I'd mention it.
