Hi all.

Please will you suggest rules for ACW. There is the following limit.

I have slightly over 60 bases of infantry, based on 30x30mm. I also have guns, Cavalry etc, but my limit is really the 60 bases maximum per side.

Alternatively,  if anyone has a F&F suggestion,  as I have the rules, but the 2 scenario books have army lists of 120 to 200 bases.
I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

What is wrong with Black Powder, which we have been playing previously?

As the author, may I respectfully nominate "Bloody Big Battles!"? There are 15 ACW scenarios in the BBB group files, including Gettysburg (with four players, we fought all three days on a 6'x4' table at the club on a Monday evening) and Chancellorsville. BBB recommends 25x25mm bases but your 30x30 should be fine. The Gettysburg scenario needs 62 Union infantry and 53 Confederate; Chancellorsville, 56 Union and 27 Confederate. A good starter scenario is 1st Bull Run, 37 US vs 35 CSA. Other small ones include Champion Hill and Cedar Creek.

BBB and Fire and Fury, in my opinion, by far in what has been suggested. Just depends on the details and your preferences. I dont play ACW but I have FnF and have played all the rules listed so far.

But apart from that...

Never sure how to class BP unit skirmishers for ACW, as they are part of the unit. Tending towards 'they both did it, it's standard by this point, so baked in and doesn't need to be shown."

Also - I have looked for BBB over the years, all I find is reports, not the actual rules. Where do I go to get them?

Thanks for the question, LH. As mentioned at the top of the BBBBlog, in the UK you can get BBB from Caliver Books or North Star:
https://caliverbooks.com/bookview.php
https://www.northstarfigures.com/list.php?man=296&page=1
In the US, Brigade Games or On Military Matters.
I believe some other retailers carry them too.
