Hi all first forum post, seems like a great place so far. A little about myself used to play warhammer when i first started but soon started napoleonics and ww2 gaming (mostly flames of war) came away from the hobby for a good few years and recently have started up again.

So far ive started a 10mm medieval collection and im currently dabbling with the idea of napoleonics again. Open to most eras.

If anyone is around the newark, doncaster and Sheffield area feel free to send a message. Be nice to find a few people to share projects and game now and again (tried local clubs to me and it seems massively warhammer, bolt action and saga) and i much prefer the smaller scales. Thanks for reading looking forward to hearing from you all

Hello Dave,

Sorry, you can't just say "medieval" - well you can, but numpties like me will press for more information. Given that there are many definitions of the term (I use Hastings to Henry VII; 1066 to 1485) there's a great deal of variety in that period - and I'm only thinking Great Britain. What period are you thinking?

... and don't get me started on Napoleonics. :)

Wahtever you're thinking. there will be someone here who can give you aid and words of great wisdom. There are also a few people who I would't trust with a burnt match. The difficulty is knowing which is which. :)

Best of luck on all your projects and please share photos. We like photos.

Hello  :-h

I started off with GW, back in 1993 in my case, before moving on to collect other stuff. Still dabble in Blood Bowl but I don't bother with any of the other games, now.
Rimmer: "Aliens."

Lister: "Oh God, aliens... Your explanation for anything slightly peculiar is aliens, isn't it?

Rimmer: "Well, we didn't use it all, Lister. Who did?"

Lister: "Rimmer, aliens used our bog roll?"

;D i just said medieval as a rough marker as im not sure myself yet, i was hoping to use the lion rampant rules units based on a 50x50mm base with dice holder and 6  25x25 bases to make the 12 (or 6) man units with a fair few models on each base to represent large skirmish/small battles. I think my first project may he battle of Stirling but its still early days yet.

I have a few photos of the project so far but they seem to big to attach

Good choice. Though with Pendraken there's a lot to choose from ...

I can recommend the TB Line. They are very nice, nearly as nice as regular Pendraken figures. :)

And the Flodden range is also very good - especially the Scottish heavy weapons (yes, I know they're outside my definition of "Medieval")

And don't forget to have plenty clergy. There's very little that can't be made better by the application of a nun.

The usual way to include our own images here is to use an image hosting site and link to that.

I use ImageShack which is a paid for service but there are other free ones like Flikr, Imgur, Wix  etc., etc
