Back after a long hiatus - SCW

Hullo all,

It's been a while but finally picked up my brush and paints and started a Spanish Civil War project. Something I've wanted to do for a long time, and now an old mate got interested in the era. We're planning Crossfire games to start with, and then BKC Libertad! once we have more figs painted. Anyway, starting with some POUM militia, hoping to get a dozen or so bases done this weekend.

A-ha. It seems that images need to be behind a https url. Anyway, marching towards the historically inevitable victory of the proletariat under the banner of anti-stalinist marxist comrades. My doctor grandad was planning to go to Spain to put his skills to use on the republican side, but luckily my nan stopped him, or my dad would not have been born I suppose. Also, I have a namesake "Akseli Anttila" who was a Soviet advisor, and survived Stalin's purges thanks to being in Spain. Later served as the defence secretary of the puppet government Stalin formed during the Winter War. Died in '53. Anyhoo - back to painting.
