Hello from Norfolk!

To be honest, I've been following the Forum on and off for years. First, I was contemplating whether to return to wargaming after decades, then deliberating whether to settle on 10mm and finally started the lead mountain. I actually signed-up a while back so that I could get my Peninsular War order in and promised then that I would introduce myself 'shortly'. Well I received the final part of my order a while back and have actually painted some of the figures, so I really can't delay any longer. Hello!

My main project (it should be the only one, but I can't help myself!) is to build a varied collection of Indian/Afghan forces who will fight amongst themselves as well as against various HEIC/Raj forces from about 1800 to the 1930s. The addition of the Indian Mutiny range to the NW Frontier figures has been very welcome, although perversely it's one conflict that holds no appeal! Obviously some limited conversions will be needed alongside lots of 'fudges' and anomalies, but I've decided life is too short to get hung up on details (sorry, purists!) and I only have myself to please and the aim is fun rather recreating exact orders of battle etc. The rules I intend to use one day (!) are Osprey's The Men Who Would Be Kings and Rebels and Patriots and as everything - where physically possible - is on a 1" base BBB is also an option, as are the old school 'Charge!' rules by Young and Lawford.

Pendraken figures are actually a bit of a trip down memory lane for me as they remind me of the very first 25mm figures I bought over 50 years ago - they are similarly nicely proportioned and have enough detail - which shows how sculpting and casting has come on - but not too much, so painting isn't too tortuous and they look great en masse.

Anyway, I have already found the Forum very informative and entertaining and look forward to contributing.

Thanks all for your welcomes. Yes Chris I am all too aware of (and delighted by) the BBB India rules but daren't buy yet another set of rules before I get any figures ready for the table! I'm desperately trying to avoid replaying my teenage years where I spent ages faffing with figures and rules and switching projects - plus endlessly browsing catalogues - and not really getting any gaming done! Hopefully with the wisdom of age ... 

I actually have something eligible for the painting competition so there may be a photo or two.
