I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to chat Westie, catch me at Claymore.

Bought some resin from Warbases and some paint brushes from the paint brush trader.

We left at lunchtime as one of us had to be back in Edinburgh for 2pm.

Didn't see Ithoriel so never had the chance to be fallen on.

It was a low footfall show perhaps because of the low level of advertising. Hope they try and do better next year.

I got down to the Penrith show on the Sunday, saw a few of the same guys from Glasgow, bought some paint that I could have bought on the Saturday and some plastic figures that I didn't see on Saturday. Home in time to miss the start of the Austrian GP then fell asleep and missed the finish. Apparently the most interesting race of the season so far. Got it on video.

The traders I spoke to seemed happy with the day. Not huge takings but enough to make it worth coming back next year. Expectations on that front seem to have been low, given it was first time round for both show and venue.

I didn't arrive until  somewhere between 12:30 and 1pm. Sorry to have missed folk - I may see you at Claymore ... unless you spot me first :)

You are much less likely to be collapsed upon these days, though recurring nosebleeds are more of a problem.

I got some scenery from IGS, some MDF bits and pieces from Supreme Littleness, some decals from Pendraken and arranged to get a few figures from Gyrdan.

When I left the show the thunderstorm was just starting and three of us stepped out into the rain to cool off and wash away some of the sweat! Though we jumped back under cover sharpish with the first rumbles of thunder.

For a first event it went OK.  Sales weren't great at all, probably one of our lowest of the past 10 years, but we didn't go with high targets due to it being a new event.  The venue was accessible and looked to be good from a visitor perspective.  From the trader side the access wasn't great on the Friday and I think those who set up on Saturday morning found it hard going.  Closing down was a bit better as we were able to get a secondary fire exit opened and loaded through that instead.

The club put a lot of effort into it though, so we can't be too negative about the event.  They'd done a lot of advertising on social media, they had free drinks/snacks available for the traders on Friday night, and there was an 'involvement' promotion where the visitors could collect stickers from purchases/playing games that then entered them into a prize draw at the end of the day.

For next year, I think getting the other access doors open on the Friday would be good, a bit more advertising through different methods and maybe a few changes to the trader line-up.

Definitely, it was ridiculously hot on the Friday while we were setting up, but it's not something I can pin on the organisers!
