As part of my New Year plans, I will be re-watching my Xena DVD collection. It will be the first time I’ve actually seen all the episodes... and in order from start to finish. I finally purchased (on Amazon) all the half series bits I was missing from my collection; and am really looking forward to this home TV extravaganza I have planned. The ultimate goal is to put together a loose, but continuing Xena campaign for the Dungeon World game, and to play test the new mass battle ( 10mm DW wargame) rules at the same time.

I`ll post links to the batreps along the way.

Hmmm, I`m a bit nervous about the scratch build/customized Xena character mini I will need to make for Xena herself. But I have just the right Pendraken mini for the job I think; and I already have an ideal (early series) Gabriella facsimile put to one side.

Merry Christmas everyone   :)

Six.

Sounds good - and very ambitious Six  8)

And we like Gabrielle, eh?

sixsideddice

Oooo  nice pics Nik, the cheers  :-bd

Your first and second pic is a middle to late series photo when gabriella turned into a proper warrior side kick, complete with Elektra style twin blades. The third is when Gabriella learned to use a quarter staff (late series one and two I think). Really useful for me to get ideas on modelling. Only having these two heroines to work with means I can make a few of each - I`m hoping. Its finding any fem models at all in this scale is the hard bit... but I`m confident  :-\

Yeah... she`s a dish alright, and no mistake. I`ll be paying extra attention to modelling her  :P

Maenoferren

Yep like Gabrielle too.  :D :D :D
My friend owns one of the horses used in the series, one of the ones used in Hades chariot

Oh WOW  thats amazingly cool  :)

Cyril

So to summarize, it took no more than four posts to talk about boobs. I guess that's one of the reasons I like being here :D
Anyway, that's an excellent idea Six (as always). Just out of curiosity, do you have the references for the minis you're planning to use ?

Yeah, and it cost you a whole 15 minutes to come up with these, too! I suppose you keep a stack of these handy, just in case?  :D

Not that I disapprove, mind you.  :-bd

Nope - not a stack; I've been refining my Google-fu for years though  8)

Da DAAAAAA!!!

Xena and Gabrielle have now been converted, painted, and based in 10mm for my Dungeon World game  8)

For Gabrielle I used a Pendraken Miniatures Female Beggar FBG7 and added a staff, cut down from a cocktail stick left over from Christmas... then painted the mini suitably. Xena was a little harder, but I used an Amazon Heroine FA8, chopped off her non sword arm and lowered it to her side, added glue filler between her legs to extend her leather skirt outfit to the right length - and BINGO!

Based on 1 cent (Euro) coins and flocked with grass green, they make a rather acceptable Warrior Princess and Side-Kick I think  :)

Soon as I have them varnished, I`ll start on a Xena Dungeon World Scenario and write it into a batrep for all to see.

I`m totally sure others here could completely outdo me with their skills with the brush and modelling knife; but I`m delighted with my minor achievement, which at the end of the day is what counts I guess  X_X

Anyway; thats my first 10mm project for 2011 finished.
