As well as some really superb painting....I just love all the 'contrasts' on the figures and the bases.

Really makes them 'pop'.

Top job, Atte !  =D> =D> =D>

I have really been enjoying following this thread, my being a fan of Weird World War (having multiple armies for both WWI and WWII, and even a set of post WWII American and Russian armies. Sadly few are painted, but every time I see this thread it makes me want to jump right in.

Must say your armies look great!!!

Terry

Like I said earlier, can't wait for you to start your armies and let us see some!

So I got the Brits done this morning, and only 1 army remains to be based. Which I will get to later on today. Then I'd like to claim the project "complete" on the miniatures part. I bought a 810mm X 1200mm, 9mm thick MDF board which I will use for the winter themed map. I will have to carve some kind of a "natural" grid for borders with my dremel. I'll document the progress of that here.

This is a super impressive project.

I think you should talk to the nice Mr Leon and sort out some photos of just the Pendraken bits that could be used promotionally.

I'd gladly pitch in for Leon if he deemed something here worthy!

So! Everything is based now, and here's the mystery force. I had Scandinavian Union / Greater Finland in my mind while doing these. But I felt it was pretty lame to include such minor players. I'd love if you guys could throw some ideas what power could these minis portray!

Finish the Finns, they are fab.
The Finns fought hard for their independence, so maybe a good choice.
Could also count as interventionist forces in Russia I guess, what happened to the 17 revolution in your world? :)

Maybe Spanish - worrying France's southern flank, not to mention Gibraltar. The British moustaches have come up a treat.

Atte......They are really superb.

I used to think I was a 'better than reasonable' painter.
I couldn't get close to what you and a number of other esteemed members of the forum produce.

During the revolution, the already independent Finland declared war on Russia ( With the help of Prussia and Sweden ) to reclaim back the tribal territories that belonged to the finnish tribes back in the Medieval times. The Tsarist Russia won the Civil War but had to sue for peace with Finland, losing a big chunk of land from the North-West Russia to the Finns.

Could this explain Finlands newly gained power in the North? Just throwing around ideas :)

I guess this could be a wild card faction, that could be played as Swiss/Spain/Finland/Sweden/Norway/Denmark/Russia?

Thank you so much!

I designed custom cards to go with the game. (You have 8 cards, and you play 2 cards at your turn, the round ends when all players have played their 8 Cards. RISK-Europe Rules)

And ordered those from Printerstudio.de (Shame they did not have english translation on their site, but I think I managed)

I did this to both the Medieval and WW1 versions.

A few samples from the Krieg 1919 version.

Also some progress on the Game Board.

Here's the 9mm thick MDF, roughly 810mm x 1220mm. Reinforced with 34mmx34mm wood from the bottom, with screws and PVA glue.

I drew some outlines to act as borders, and then proceed to carve them with my Dremel. So you can play RISK on this board, or just forget about the borders and play a normal wargame.

There's also some elevation made from cork coasters I had laying around the kitchen. And some filler to camouflage them in.

Should I now apply sand on the gameboard or should I speckle it with filler using a brush?

This is definitely rather splendid !!  :)
