Phew! The rules need changing. I was leading the Spanish army, and won, with almost no casualties, in a mere three rounds. Realistic for a field battle in this theatre, but too easy.
corrigenda: 1) No pikemen. I included them lest the Spanish be too weak. Overkill, and they were converted into other types very soon in reality. 2) Reduce intimidation effect of cavalry. It makes a madcap death-or-glory charge too cost effective.

They've been taken, but Lee's swaying sleepily on her feet. Be patient a day or two.

OK, she was less sleepy than I thought...

Left flank, after Cortes breaks the Eagle Knights. Other Eagles were skirmished into impotence by the genitors.

On my right, the Cuachicqueh guards pressed home a brave charge despite heavy losses to artillery, but accomplished nothing once in contact (stopped by a point-blank salvo, perhaps).

The Demons of Darkness were shot to bits by the Spanish shot, than flank charged by the rondeleros (not shewn here).

The second picture shows the Conquistador losses at close of play (Eric the dog missing, believed gone walkies).

As I say, the rules have already been adjusted. Next time will not be so easy.
