Goodbye to a Good Friend

Sadly our good friend Colin Lambert known on this forum as Albie Bach passed away this morning after fighting cancer for some time. 

He was a valued member of Tring Wargames Club for many years and often hosted games at his house. Many of the club took part in a flurry of games at his house in November knowing that his time was limited. I think we managed to give most of his collection one last outing.

He will be missed

Our thoughts are with his family especially his wife Lynne.

I wasn't lucky enough to know him, but I am sure he appreciated your friendship as much as you appreciated his.  My sympathies to you and his family, and I hope you can hold on to all the happy memories.

My condolences to all concerned :(. From memory I met him at Colours a few years ago and had a nice chat with him, most likely to do with Dux Bellorum. A sad loss.

Sad news.

Never met him (that I'm aware of) but his posts were always on point and his "Fighting the Great Patriotic War one battle at a time" post last summer sparked off a re-run of our BKC Kursk mini-campaign which was such fun I reckon I owe him.

Sorry to hear this Mark, I hope his family are doing as well as can be expected.  I'd only met Colin on a couple of occasions at the shows but we'd chatted on email many times.  It always feels strange when we hear of a passing like this, as even though we're not proper 'friends', we know all of you as more than just customers.  We meet at shows, we speak on the phone, we chat over emails, so it always feels extremely sad to hear that someone has gone.
