Not something I normally do so was wondering what people use to temporarily stick figures in place whilst painting?
Starting a Dux Bellorum project soon and was going for the sheildwall effect.

My Ego forbids a signature.

Aksu

Hotglue, not too much though.

I use a ~1:1 mix of water and Elmer's white glue. It works well and the figures detach fairly easily without bringing stick splinters with them.

Copydex (aka cow gum) - solid bond but easy to peel off once painted.

Very small drip of loctite. Just cut under the base to remove.

Dr Dave

COPYDEX - for heavens sake, just use copydex. Once painted and dry just twist them off. Simple

DON'T use PVA - I broke a steak knife getting them off the PVA!

Or use Copydex and not have to wait 1/2 hour first!  ;D

Elmers is a PVA. The key for sticking figures is the water dilution. As Dr. Dave said, undiluted, it is hard to release BUT a water soak (as Lemmy suggest probably works too).  BTW, I brush diluted Elmer's on stands and the sprinkle on flock. It drys clear and holds well - I usually don't both with a fixative spray.
