Phil most devices should tell you the nearest connection. Admitedly you will probably have to put the password in, which for my hub is an absolute pain particularly on the smart TV's

If you want stuff to work instantly. Buy Apple kit. As it is all from the same manufacturer for both hardware and software once you have one device setup the others all can check in with the first device to get settings. You pay a premium for this.

If you are using Windows and Android, stuff will work but it will take much more effort to set it up.

Isn't it just, Ian !  X_X  ;D ;D

Crawling around on the floor, getting covered in dog hair, trying to read the teeny weeny label on the back of the hub, without losing my temper.....or pulling all the wires out.....So I can read the bloomin' thing in comfort.

Nearest connection is my hub....

It's somewhat ironic, in that Techno Towers has a really good line of sight to a decent sized mast.....three quarters(?) of a mile away...which DOES give access to all sorts of stuff.
A TV engineer once told us....You're actually too close to that mast.... :o :o..The signal(s) from there are in the form of an umbrella......To get the best...You want to be JUST outside the umbrella....If you're inside the umbrella, you'll get next to b*gger all.

I truly don't understand that.

We'll just keep the landline, for the phone.....and wait until 'they' put in proper cables.
(I'm not holding my breath.) ;)

Forbes....Apple....NO. ;)

I get a fraction teed off with the updates they keep sending me.....I simply want my iPod to play me the music I enjoy..(Though the aural definition of any music downloaded is next to complete cr*p...I don't want any other 'experience'.)

If the iPod goes bang.....I'll just use a dirt cheap portable CD player.

Cheers - Phil. :)

Phil my hub came with a nice sticky which is on the HP lap top, and a plastic tablet which is on the chest of draws next to me bed adjacent to the toshiba lap top. Check your phone - it may not need the password, look in settings my new one has a button for it, and I'm pretty certain the old one did as well.

Take a photo of the code with your phone.. I do this all the time with hard to read or awkward to see things

Also lots of modern hubs have the code on a removable piece.

This is because you are running it on Windows. On Mac hardware it would just auto update. But no one (other than you and my wife) is still using iPods. Everyone just uses their phone to store music. You really won't want to go back to a CD player. Skipping, Changing discs. Finding discs. No thanks.

Forbes....the phones we've got don't take photos.....they're that ancient.  ;D ;D

Apple would update on the PC....If I let it.  ;D

I'd far rather listen to something approaching the original 'sound' than hideously compressed files....They sound poop compared to CDs.....And those are pants compared to vinyl.

I'll stick to my drawers full of CDs and a half decent stereo system......most of the time.
Mr iPod only gets used late at night.....when I probably wouldn't notice .

Each to his own. ;)

Cheers - Phil.

I'd simply just give up with me, Forbes...... ;)

I'm never ever going to change.

I'm more than happy to bimble along in my own sweet way. ;D ;D

All the best - Techno(phobe) :D

Started the Virginian 2nd yesterday. No particular evidence for blue cuffs but I wanted some variation from other regiments, the beauty of AWI is that you can pretty much make it up as you go along for American uniforms . This regiment is reported as especially ragged so I may add patches and stuff when the unit  is finished
