With all the additions to my forces complete, i decided to play a battle using everything i have.

Got the table ready for playing a modified version of D'Erlons first corps assault. did a few modifications to get everything on a 9X4 table.

The table

Skirmishers at the edge of the table.

Artillery in the center

british heavy cavalry waiting for their moment

Kempt's brigade on  the flank

The view from the british lines

The imperial guard standing in for quiot's brigade on the right

Nice to see them getting onto the table.

Sure is!!

Meanwhile, the attack is going badly, but not as bad as it did historically  ;D

The french have suffered many casualties already, but the black watch is wavering (down to two bases)

But more french are joining the advance (i'm recycling troops that get removed to represent the second battalions of the regiments)

The fight on the left flank is going in favor of the french though!

Sir Denis Pack just got shot down! Centre of the defense is now a bit weaker! (house rule, whenever you take a hit on a uniit with an officer attached, roll 2d6. on a 2 or 3 the officer got hit and is removed)

With one of the hanoverian units destroyed in the woods, the cavalry spring into action (i decided before the start of the game, that they would launch as soon as the allied side lost their first unit)

They interpenetrate the lines just like they did in the battle:

And as expected, the cavalry crushes their initial targets.

Recalling the french troops towards their own lines, the cavalry charge saved the day, and the defenders of the farm managed to clear the entire flank. Only thing going well for the french is the right flank, where the skirmishers are constantly harassing the british.

The battlefield after the cavalry actions:

All in all an enjoyable game!!

Mice. 🐭

Too late, already making my army lists for kings of war! Would be a shame to hug the kitchen table with a board game while I have the big table out!
