Nice work and a great looking game. What rules do you use, as it does not look like HotT?

Yup, that is a lot!

Unfortunately not really, I seem to have far more troops for most armies than I need. This is good because I have lots of nice toys, but it's bad as many end up in boxes too long.

We are playing a home brew set, kind of a mash up of Warmaster, Kings of War and Irreguar Wars, with some other bits of our own thrown in. It's been a couple of years in gestation, but is now pretty stable on the rules front. But army lists are taking a lot more working out, and balancing between lists.

Forces of Nature vs Demons and Herd
This was our game on Friday night, using our home brew rules. The majority of the Forces of Nature (FoN) are Pendraken figures.

I forgot to take photos at the start, so this rather jumps in at the middle! The setup was that the FoN had to get an artefact to the stone circle. I gave the artefact to the unit of Unicorns as they were the fastest of my tough units. I was tempted to go with the Tree Herder (a super ent) but decided although he is super tough, he was just too slow.

This is probably the end of my second turn, and on both the left and the centre I have won major combats destroying large blocks of enemy troops. In the centre I managed to flank a block of Herd infantry, with my fanatical sylvan kin, who generate a lot of dice. Following their win, one of the sylvan kin was able to flank the brigade of Demons on the left.  These had already been engaged by the salamanders and a water elemental. This caused the demons to evaporate under a hail of blows.
The unicorns (with the artefact) had started on the left flank with the centaurs, but when I discovered that the big green demon was really strong, whereas the big purple one on the far flank was just a mage, I decided to lateral the unicorns to the other side of the table.

The next turn - the big block of archers in the centre has died under slyvan kin and elementals. On the far side the Demons had chosen not to charge the summoned Earth Elemental, but when it charged them, along with a flanking Fire Elemental and the two salamanders it all went rather wrong for the Demons. On the near side, the half-gaints of the Herd got into contact, and killed a couple of my units, but not without losses.

On the far side, rather surprisingly the fire elemental lost to the flappy demonic bird things (they may have a proper name...). But they are lined up for charges from another fire elemental, and the centaurs, and salamanders on the fire side. Hopefully leaving a gap for the unicorn to progress through.
On the hill in the centre, a unit of half-giants charged up, hoping to catch the Sylvan kin in the flank, but they were able to turn to meet the threat.

Nearest the camera the big green demon failed to charge (after being left out of command the turn before) a bit of a flaw in the demons plan to only bring 2 commanders, when there most expensive unit sat around doing very little. The other half-giants charged the wounded salamanders, killing them but taking a lot of damage in return - the big block of naiad crossbows were likely to finish them in the next turn. The giant wolves engaged the earth and air elementals, rather ineffectually on both sides. I was happy to play a holding action on this flank - and had 2 fast centaur units in reserve, should they have been needed.

At this point we called the game as it was late, giving victory to the forces of nature, as we couldn't see how the light demonic forces on the far side could stop the FoN troops. While their remaining ones were tied up on the near side.
It was a good game, and went surprisingly well for FoN - I was lucky that my high attack, but low strength Sylvan kin fought against the low armoured Herd troops in the centre, a perfect match up for them. And on the flanks the salamanders with fewer attacks, but strength, were against the tougher demons. We did feel that the Druids ability to summon in Elementals was bit too good, so are toning that down so they can only summon demons of their own element.

Great idea for a scrap, good looking table idea.
Does read as a little one sided? But then the victor gets to write the history!!!  ;D

The scenario is from the Age of Sigma book - basically played as written.

It did turn out very one-sided. Not entirely sure why. The two defending players didn't coordinate much. And I managed to get good match ups. Dice came into. The demon player rolled badly early on while I was rolling well. Later game I had some poor dice rolls but it mattered less by then.

Actually did some painting tonight, in what feels like the first time for ages.

Some work on various Druids/Elementalists for my forces of nature army, who are proving hard work to choose colour schemes for. And some more Headuesmen - who are nice and easier to paint, with simple colours and big areas!
