Here's my creation record of a Kirin for my Ninja HotT army based on the bittersweet movie "47 Ronin". He will be played as a Behemoth.

Superb project, Terry.  =D> =D>

Are you using a Dremel to help with the conversion ?

Rimmer: "Aliens."

Lister: "Oh God, aliens... Your explanation for anything slightly peculiar is aliens, isn't it?

Rimmer: "Well, we didn't use it all, Lister. Who did?"

Lister: "Rimmer, aliens used our bog roll?"

Terry37

Thank you gentlemen. No, I don't even own a Dremel tool but have often thought of getting one. I just use an Exacto knife, a dissecting needle, a modeling hand drill and some small modeling files.

Stroll on ........Treat yourself, Terry. You'll save yourself an awful lot of time. (With a few extra burrs from their catalogue.)

Terry,
Somehow I missed looking at the link you provided. Outstanding conversation and painting  :-bd :-bd
(Not to mention looking like a lot of fun).

I got a Dremel Micro (to replacing the heavy, clunky one that belong to my Dad) a few months back.
It is battery powered, extremely light and a joy to weld.  As Techo says "treat yourself" :)

Here is a reasonable review:
https://www.protoolreviews.com/tools/dremel-micro-8050-review/12753/
The reviewer mentions getting a EZ402 mandrel to replace the one that comes with the drill which I recommend doing.

Incidently - I get stuff from these guys (located in the states) occasionally - wide product array.
I guessing you probably already know them

I was able to finish my model of the Kirin while working on my Weird WWI Americans, so he is ready to help Lady Snowblood! I also decided to have a little more fun with him, in that since he is really seen as good in Japanese mythology - I sort of adopted a Ferdinand the Bull theme with the basing - thus the pretty red and yellow flowers!

I actually plan to have him become  part of my Samurai army when I get around to doing it, as I will see them as more good than an army of assassins - Ninja. But in the meantime he will stay close to Lady Snowblood and guard her six!!!

Quirky, ingenious and well executed conversion, I like it!

I suspect Lady Snowblood will expect him to do rather more than sit under the cork tree and smell the flowers though! :)

The movie was on TV here recently and I was inspired by you project to watch it again ;)

Great idea - big cow + tree troll = Japanese monster is not something most people can make work.
