Progress continues, it's almost as thought I'm on a mission from ...

Byzantine heavy mounted washed last night and silver highlights done this morning
Final dry brush and figure bases to do

Byzantine foot base coated last night, dry brushed this morning and started on details 

Byzantine light mounted's horses base coated, dry brushed, manes, tails, hooves & markings mostly done
Chestnuts and Blacks manes, tails & hooves to do

Byzantine bases cut out last night, they need to be prepared and painted

Touched up the Syrian army flock and base edges

I have to work out who is next

Also the weather cleared up and I got some varnishing done

It cleared up again later in the day and I got to take some pictures

2x Turkoman horse archers (LH), 2x Turkoman horse archers or Bedouin (LH), I went with Bedouins to add more variety to the army

I'm pretty pleased with how they have turned out

After some consideration it looks like I will be doing the IV/2 Cilician Armenian army next
139 figures but that gives me the troops to field two armies that can fight against the Syrians and Byzantines

Then it will be the Crusaders with 190 figures, including the add ons to convert an Early Crusader army to Late
This will also give me enough troops to field two Early Crusader armies

really nice project!

Actually I am writting some scenarios for the first crusade... Already wirtten  Ncea and Dorileo but probably will last 5 battles (Antioch, Jerusalem and Ascalon) to game what I consider the main episodes. They are written for Medieval warmaster. If you are interested in read the scenarios pm with your email direction and I will send it to you.

Good progress again over the weekend
I've finished painting the remaining Byzantines, just touch ups, wash and figure bases left to do

The bases are painted and I've glued on the magnetic vinyl and detailed labels underneath
Coloured top labels to do and they will be ready for basing

I've sorted the Armenians into two batches, one possible army in each
I need to start preparing the figures of the first batch

That made room for the first of the first batch of the Armenians; Mounted and Franks
These are now under coated

The remainder of the first batch of the Armenians; Bow and Spear are prepared and waiting for the remaining Byzantines to make room on the painting rods
