A new AFV with just a new turret required.  The Charioteer was the 20pdr on a new turret on a Cromwell hull.

I saw a claim on Wikipedia that it saw action in Korea, Vietnam , the Six Day War and S African bush wars ?

Quite a CV for a vintage WW2 hull.   I would game it if I had  one-  any seconder

Korea is definitely wrong....was sold to Finland and Jordan, and passed to Lebanese milita. Cant think of any other use. But yes would be nice to have.

The chassis is 2inches wider than the Cromwell but that no problem just need to make the Turret or just make one yourselves from scratch you can leave the turrets lose then just swap back when you need a cromwell :D :D :D

Doubt that Matt - it's a direct re-turret as far as I know. I suspect you are confusing it with the Comet.

Yes, the Military Factory has a good synopsis of the tank, its origins and service.   The Centurion was not being made fast enough for the Cold War demand, so with 4,000+ Cromwell's gathering dust in the tankpark, 442 of them got a new turret.  In service from 1951 to 1958, and as Ian rightly says, no active British service.  Somebody should tell Wikipedia.

A pity - the gun would have been useful in Korea.

Sorry Lads has a larger Turret ring to fit the turret not hull
