I believe my first Minifigs figures were a shilling each. That's 5p!  Exorbitant in comparison with the Airfix figures I had been using.

I remember the furore over the first figures that were £1 for a single 25mm mini - Mithril Miniatures iirc.

I think we were getting Peter Laing 15mm figures for 1p back in the 70's.

 I remember the Peter Laing stuff being bought in bulk by a sort of club consortium, Jim. I imagine that brought the price down a bit.

Still have some of the Romans I bought back then .... unpainted   :-[

I think, originally, the figures were retailed at 2p each but our club got a substantial discount as we bought them in bulk, thousands of them.

I am the custodian of the clubs Crimean collection, all by Peter Laing, there are quite a few.

Growing up in Bournemouth a train ride to Southampton then a treck to Northam not the most salubrious district of Soton and into the shabby shop of dreams sometimes spying the master himself Neville Dickinson happy days :)
