Natxo

Hello from Madrid, Spain.

I have been registered in this forum for a lot of time, but I never introduced myself, so now I will solve that.

I´m  a 35 years old wargamer from Madrid. Being in the military, I have lived in Madrid, Zaragoza, Toledo and Vitoria, cities with interesting napoleonic histories.

I started playing when I was 13, with Games Wokshop´s WH40k, like most young gamers. We were a small group bat soon started looking for napoleonic rules, and as we have no knowledge about the period, started Spanish, Russians and Austrians. No body collected Napoleon´s own army!!!
My first napoleonic figurines were austrian line infantry with helmets, from Old Glory. I still have tose battalions stored at home.

In 2004 I was a member in the Asociación Madrileña de Simulación (Madrid Simulation Society), my local wargames club, and we started painting 6mm ww2 miniatures, mainly from Heroic&Ros. In just one year, we jumped from 6 to 10mm, with Warmaster Ancients armies and BKC for WWII.

I collect all the less loved armies for any period:
Napoleonics - Ottomans, Bavarians end USA (1812), all in 15mm.
BKC - Italians, I love italians and have miniatures in 28mm, 15mm, 10mm, 6mm. A lot of italians, but also Norwegians and Romanians.
Warmaster Ancients - Dacians.
Spanish Civil War - for BKC, 10mm.
AWI, 10mm. I started with another producer, but I am trying to sell all the unpainted miniatures to buy more from Pendraken.
Nowadays, I´m focused in GZG,s Full Thrust and Stargrunt 15mm miniatures.

Ok, thats all,  if anyone of you visit Spain, we can try a game.

Welcome to the forum.....Although we may have already said that !  ;)

Welcome Naxto!

I know what you mean about less popular armies. I like the Neapolitans for Napoleonics; Wurttemburgers and Westphalians. Some of those smaller countries have armies so small that it is perfectly feasible to model the whole thing on the table.

Dammit, dammit, dammit! You've just awoken that love. Now have to go and look at all those Confederation forces ... to go with some Bavarians.

Thanks.  >:(

There is a secret advantage with the "minor nations".

You can loose any game and say that it is what you expected.  ;)
