Main thrusts for this year:

10mm SYW
10mm Italian Wars
15mm WWI 1914 Belgium
2mm - probably Langensalza for BBB

I shall leave it there for now. If I go for too much then no single project will be completed, e.g. the SYW is the only one I can actually game at the moment.

Plans for 2016

Buy more than I can paint for <project of the moment>

Paint less than I hoped of things bought

Change <project of the moment> regularly

Drag out old projects, make desultory attempts to paint same, put project back in cupboard

Realise I will never achieve all the things I plan

Survey the fields in which the f**ks I give about this are grown and see that they are barren :)

Create plan to do much the same in 2017!
There are 100 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who can work from incomplete data

10mm SAGA The Crescent and The Cross. I'm sorry to say I may be looking elsewhere for the appropriate figures though. Makes me very sad  :(

That plan sounds remarkably similar to my 2016 plan though maybe I can give Paul R something to work on while he considers his next project 😇

Must admit to a wry smile, as that's where my (and many others') good intentions are likely to end up.

I have three projects in various stages which I will attempt to complete in 2016:
1. 10mm SYW - I'm about 40% where I want to be with the Prussians and Austrians. Later this year I will start on the French, British/Hanoverian and potentially even the Russians. (Yeah, right)
2. 20mm Modern for the upcoming Fighting Season rules - about 75% complete. I'll keep these on the back-burner until closer to when the rules come out.
3. 28mm Crusaders for Saga and Soldiers of God - about 25% completed. Even though I love painting these figures I put this on hold until my opponent who got me into the period at least starts to paint his forces. No sense completing the army if I don't have anyone to fight.

Other odds & ends:
1. paint up a few 10mm WWII figures and tanks I have left over from previous projects in order to build up forces for Iron Cross.
2. Add a few more 10mm Union and Rebel units for Altar of Freedom.
3. Paint the MDF buildings I got at a convention two months ago.

Trying really hard to stick with two projects this year-
1. 6mm War of Spanish Succession
2. 10mm ACW

This is going to be really hard for me but I am going to really try!! :)

I am very good at planning. However ... they are subject to unpredictable changes.

I've got a lot of "add ons" to be completed - you know when Pendraken add something to their catalogue that you HAVE TO HAVE. Just a few nights on each ...

French WWII
Italian WWII
My 1960's Desert Battle (hangers will go nicely into the battle at the airport.)

Need to research (plagarise) some rules for 1:600 air combat. Also, since I've been strangely drawn to the Pacific in WWII, I may have to construct a generic aircraft carrier ... or see if there's a kit or two to be had.

I know that I am going to by some US Marines and Japanese this year.

I tend to buy everything before I paint (that's my excuse anyway) and so I think this year will see me continuing to buy lots of Napoleonic Brits, and Bavarians (don't ask ... I just love Cornflower Blue) and then probably have to start buying some French so that the Brits don't look lonely on the field. Problem is I don't yet know if I'm going for a late Peninsula army or a Waterloo one. The Peninsula allows the Portuguese and Spanish, but the Waterloo allows for the Prussians (and ultimately Russians and Austrians.) Decisions, decisions.

Having said that Pendraken are likely to release a new range of something lovely and I'll just have to get diverted into that. Just saying that some Korean War infantry would be bonzer (though the WWII commandos fit very well for the Brits), but Pendraken are likely to bowl me a googlie and add chariot armies or something and then where would I be? At the front of the crowd throwing money at Leon. Then after I left Peppermint Giraffe, I would go on line and order some Pendraken goodies.

Leon! Leon! LEEOOONN! No ... go with the sparkles .. yeah ... brings out the colour of your eyes ... has the medication not worked then? Never mind, just put on some aviators and look cool. Anyway don't distract me. Could you tease us (the teaspoons in the Pendraken cutlery drawer) about your plans for 2016? Turkey? Sounds good. What period? First two weeks of May? No, Leon, when I said about your plans I meant what is Pendraken planning to release in 2016? No I don't thinks Techno's over-long bows are going to bankrupt the company with increase casting costs. Could you just give us a peak at some broad themes for 2016?

Ace of Spades

Hmmm... let's think (not much of a planning man I fear...) :-\

In 10 mm that would be:
-  1914 project; all new and seems like it's going to be big...
-  Keep working on the 1918 project,
-  Finish all NWF that's lying around and maybe get some more tribesmen,
-  Maybe get back into the AWI, (for 'Maybe': read 'Probably')
-  Contemplate on some sort of 17th century project to have an excuse for all the scenery I bought,
-  Contemplate on Berlin 1945 as an excuses for all the scenery I bought that would fit that project...

20mm:
-  Depending on how this weekend turns out I might be stuck with hundreds of 1944 US Marines plus scratchbuilding some proxy Destroyer Escorts...
-  Keep working on German 1944/1945 Winter Panzer units,
-  Finish my 1813 Württemberg and Italian Brigades and then some more French cavalry...and...and..and...
-  getting a lot of plastic ACW figures based.

28mm:
-  Get another ACW regiment done plus some bits and pieces,
-  Do some boardgame models; finish Zombicide Black Plague when I get it all and maybe start painting the regular Zombicide models,

Rest:
-  Keep building some 1/700 ships every now and then,
-  Work on the 1/96 CSS Alabama,
-  Work on the 1/144 WW-2 airplanes for WoW
-  rebuild book collection!

I think that'll keep me occupied besides working, reading, familylife, enjoyong life music, re-enacting and taking the bike out every now and then...

Cheers,
Rob
