Sabresquadron is for any scale up to 15mm, and has alternative measurements to allow 20mm to be used.
It is aimed at a company aside but have used 2 companies attacking 1 company (with beginners I might add) and others have played big games on large tables. Also  where there is a big disparity in quality you might need one side to be much bigger to balance it.

1) What ruleset do you use in your last game? - Black Powder with Franco-Prussian War modifications
2) What armies were confronted? - French VI corps vs Prussian Guards and XII (Saxon) Corps
3) Did you feel comfortable with the ruleset? - absolutely, it was lovely to play it again.
4) and... was the first time do you use the ruleset? - Not by a long chalk
5) How many players were in the game? - 3 (the young lad we set the game up for couldn't make it)

Full battle report in the next day or so, but great game, couple of unexpected twists on real events, but a very historic outcome (Dave Von Württenberg wasn't happy)!

Black Powder is my favourite set of rules

1) What ruleset do you use in your last game? - Sword and Spear
2) What armies were confronted? - Norman v Anglo Danish
3) Did you feel comfortable with the ruleset? - still not entirely sure of Impetus....
4) and... was the first time do you use the ruleset? - 2nd game
5) How many players were in the game? - Solo

Much more fluid second game with only a few reads of specific rules as the game developed.

Narrow win for the Normans.

1) What ruleset do you use in your last game? Warr Without An Enemie - test game for later 17th century version
2) What armies were confronted? - Franco Irish vs Anglo Dutch 1690
3) Did you feel comfortable with the ruleset? - yes
4) and... was the first time do you use the ruleset? - no but first time after rules changes, mainly connected with charges
5) How many players were in the game? - 4

A large cavalry fight with a few supporting infantry to maximise the number of charges. The Anglo Dutch (actually Danes and Dutch) infantry stood like a rock amid a swirling cavalry melee. They saw off the opposing infantry and attacks by various enemy cavalry units that took a break from beating up the Anglo Dutch cavalry. The game ended with a bloody draw as neither the victorious French/Irish cavalry or Anglo Dutch infantry were in any state to finish off the other.

Start of a narrative campaign, with the action based upon the attack at Wissembourg. Next up a version of Froeschwiller.

Ooh, exciting! AAR to come, I hope?

Wissembourg was what we used to field-test various different rules before giving up and deciding to create BBB instead. I'll be interested to see how you made a decent challenging scenario out if it.

And also to see what you do for Froeschwiller. I'm guessing you'll shrink it down in ground scale and troop scale to suit the two of you for an evening? Froeschwiller was one of the first scenarios we did for BBB and it's a bit 'traditional'. If we were to write it again now, with the experience of another 50 or so scenarios under my belt, I think I'd produce something a bit more streamlined. So I'm looking forward to your take on it.

Bloody Big BATTLES!

Leman

1. FoB2

2. French Guard division against Prussian Guard division - 1870 - 15mm figures

3. Yes, except I sometimes forget I can fire when I like

4. No

5. 2. I made a basic mistake (apparently - I always get a mini-lecture as to why I lost) by having my reserves in column ready to move to where needed. Told I should have deployed them in line. As I've written before though, I have the tactical nous of a beached whale, so I will be beaten again next time I play. Solo play is beginning to look like a very attractive proposition.

Leman, that sounds a bit less than fun to end the evening... although I do like a post battle recrimination and blame phase followed by ritual burning of the dice ;)

1/ Song of Blades & Heroes in 28mm
2/ Dwarf Family Robinson against Tomb Guard Skeletons
3/ Yes, very simple set of rules that produces a lot of tactical play and always feels right for a pointy stick scrum
4/ No, one of many - getting reacquainted for WMMS in March where we're running a participation game again!
5/ Two.

Played a test couple of games on my "in progress" dungeon tiles & walls to see if the idea works. It does, just have to decide how big a set of gaps I leave for the big 'uns like the Hydra and Minotaur to fit through... next week, with proper warbands not the randomly grabbed ones my club mate has done up.

The participation game is going to be a Greek-ish Myth (ish) set up, six different warbands ready (Children of the Hydra, Minotaur & Satyrs, Medusa and Living Statues on "mythic" side, then Hercules, Theseus and Perseus with their men on the side of Man) to choose from, three mini-tables (one Labyrinth, one "golden fleece"/Hydras lair, one Medusas Temple) to fight over so if you;re at WMMS in March stop me and stab one :D

Song takes @30mins tops to play and has a learning curve young kids can climb in a couple of turns so it's ideal for a participation game!
