Ask Lady Butler. She said it far better than I ever could.

Now fortunately the original, which is truly massive, is in Liverpool Art Gallery, so I'll take a look next time I'm in town. It also houses "...and when did you last see your father?"

In the Walker? Is it? When did that happen?

Must pop along and have a look.  :D

The main contents are a set of the new hedges - and very nice the look too, quite a bushy chunky 3D look to them

They've both been in the Walker since I was a kid in thew 50s. Last time I went, three or four years ago, to the Henry VII exhibition, they were still there.

High Elf Bolt Throwers

We have a big game coming up next weekend, due to a fortunate coincidence of most of our group's families being away next weekend!

And reviewing my massed elven forces http://www.kerynne.com/games/WMElf.html decided that a few more bolt throwers would be useful:

A quick but functional paint job - sprayed these on Saturday morning - based them this afternoon.

A quick but functional paint job ...

If that's what counts as a quick but functional paint job then if anybody wants me I'll be in the library with a decanter of brandy, a pistol and one bullet :)

Lovely stuff.

 :)

They do seem to have come out well!

I'm not sure how much time I spent on them, but it could really only have been yesterday evening, as I was out from mid morning on Sat, till late afternoon, and at work this morning - and I think I only did basing and a little dry brushing today.

I think it shows that I have got the hang of painting what needs painting, and not too much else, especially with GW Elves! These made use of lots of dry brushing and the use of a couple of strong colours.

The bolt throwers were sprayed white, to save a whole lot of over painting too.

Thanks chaps.

Hedges

Put a few shades of green on these, over a black spray.

They still look quite dark - its very hard to get paint into the deeper areas. I'd suggest using a dark green spray if you have one, rather than black with these.
