PaulR - thanks for your concern - it is true that I only understand about half of what goes on here so I hope you and others will countinue to provide explainations  :)

In this case I read Tom Brown's School Days back in the beginning of time and have an inkling BUT will grant that some details may have been glossed over :)

Why just a few Orcs. I am sure there are some Goblins and Wood Elves out there who are pretty dishonourable as well
If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!
