Interesting little read and infinitely preferable to the Queen's Speech, which was the alternative!

Well, not very good with technology. Find it a bit of a  , so sorry Norm but won't be back to this thread as my ineptitude with computers seems to stir up derision at this joyous time of the year. Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, I can count to potato and will now take a break.

Just tried again on the desktop Mac, and the PDF opens fine from dropbox for me. There is a slightly odd login dialog, but there is a small continue without signing in button at the bottom.

The reason many of us uses Macs, is that we want something that just works. I have enough fighting with Windows at work, to not want that nonsense at home too.

The Fisher Price quote is from Charlie Brooker and was not intended to be taken seriously in this context.

The Macs vs PCs thing is very much a matter of personal choice and the things you intend to do with your machine.

As a gamer and tinkerer I far prefer PCs but am a firm believer in horses for courses.

OK, I do a bit..

Used to believe the Apple line about it just working, however after my hideously expensive iphone decided to gum up for 3 days due to an app update not working after installing the latest iOS update I'm not so sure it's true.

I'm currently steeling myself to buy a new computer and would love one of those big shiny iMACs with super-duper screen just for doing photo editing on BUT I know Windows so will probably stick to that platform.

The file is a PDF and I used my Mac Mini and iPad in the preparation and getting it uploaded.

Dropbox appears differently depending whether you have an account or not - if not it will ask you to sign up, but you can just click on the 'x' to get past the sign-up screen and go straight to a download button.

As an aside, the iMini is an interesting bit of kit, it is like a highly portable base unit and you just plug your monitor into it Gives you Mac compatibility a bit cheaper than other routes. I have it simply because it talks to my iPad, which I use for most computing needs. The desktop just makes sure I sit properly and so helps with posture.

The house thing has become all demanding and underestimated on my part what work that entails - especially at this time of year. The plumber who was meant to come today to fit a boiler has put things back to Saturday - Oh for the joy of hot water!
