Well it seems sort of official as most of the GW stores in Australia have it on their Facebook pages and according to a couple pages have consent by the CEO to release the news that...

GW will be starting to release their Specialist Games ranges again

Deep down I am still doubtful but fingers crossed
If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

Hmm, that's a surprise to me!  I thought those were well and truly dead and buried, so bringing them back would be quite a turnaround by GW.  I always took their demise as a sign that they weren't profitable (or profitable enough) so could it be an indication that they've not quite hit the jackpot with Age of Sigmar and are looking for any way of bringing in new sales (and bringing old customers back)?

One if the posts mentions  a new GW studio in association with Forge World. I wonder if its an attempt to lure some of their old sculptors and designers back

Possibly, but there could be some interesting issues depending on how the original games systems were designed.  Were the designers paid as part of a studio purely to develop the rules, or were their royalties involved dependant on sales/printruns?  It would be quite funny if they relaunched Warmaster and had to start paying Rick Priestley again even though he's now working for Warlord.

I did notice on the original post that Warmaster was quite noticeable by its absence

And as I mentioned old designers and sculptors. SIT DOWN Phil your not going anywhere

It's being stuck to the chair with 'superglue' that's the bigger problem.  :P

Isn't there a dremel attachment that could help?

Unbelievable how quick an, in itself interesting and worthwhile, thread derailed again in pronographic insinuations and useless nonsense!  :o

I'm proud of you all! :D

Superglue and lube should definitely never be stored in the same place or in identical containers!

Unsubstantiated rumours about products I'm no longer interested in, being produced by a company I wouldn't trust as far as I could throw it ... into the teeth of a hurricane .... with one hand tied behind my back ... derail away :D

Don't GW have a big release for something they actually produce scheduled around now?

No such thing as bad publicity? Or am I being unduly cynical?

Well I for one would be interested if Warmaster Empire figures reappeared.

There are so many cheaper options these days that I'm not sure I'd care. One or two Araby units maybe but that's about it.

I'm amazed if they are releasing all of these games at once - it used to be there were two or three fully available at a time. Also, I understood they were planning to move to entirely plastic and resin - not sure where that leaves all of the metal models Specialist games did.

Time will tell but if it turns out to be true I'm currently expecting it won't involve systems I'm interested in and/ or prices will be more ludicrous than ever.

I'd love to be proved wrong!

You never know, they might have had a consultant in from Aldi who's given them some tips on how not to price themselves out of the market, and the joys of diversification.

I never understood why they quit all these games their 'old fans' loved; all the moulds and models were there; it was just a question of keeping it alive. Nobody expected anything new or extraordinary; it was just a question of keeping it rolling along... Ah well; we'll see what happens.
