Well its Armistice Day once again and nothing much has changed.

The story goes that the guns didn't fall silent at 11 o'clock on the morning of the 11th November 1918.

On the French sector the French 'stood to' just in case the Germans decided to put in one last suicidal attack.

On the American sector the order to 'cease fire' was at first ignored and had to be repeated by increasingly higher authority. The American gunners felt that as they hadn't been there to fire the first shot they were definitely going to fire the last!

Finally, on the British sector, the war ended for the British Army as it had begun in 1914 and very nearly in the same place, with a cavalry charge.

While we take a moment to remember all those who fought and fell in past wars, lets also remember the young men and women who are still fighting and falling today.
