Picked these up at the Colours show. Just made a start with priming so far:

Knights:

Archers:

Magicians:

Swordsmen (I separated the foot soldiers into separate spear and sword armed units):

The whole (slightly out of focus!) lot:

Not pictured are the General's unit, spearmen, chariots and unicorns.

More pics to follow as I make progress.

Very nice, looks like there'll be some interesting command / shaman units there as well.  I'll be keeping an eye out for those.

Could be used as some nice magical terrain!

That picture has a Melnibonean feel to it. I'll have to think about an Elric army for Warband sometime :)

Duke Speedy of Leighton

I went with the Dark Elves with a Melnibonean theme, their general makes a rather good version of a certain Emperor of the Ruby Throne...

Very nice indeed.

I realise now I should have put this topic in the Painting Diaries section. Oops.

Leon will move it, if you ask him. :)
Don't ask me to......It'll get lost.  X_X

Thank you.

No progress made this weekend - too much "real life" going on :(

AndyT

Progress made, but very slow.

Everything is cleaned up, assembled where necessary and primed. Put a couple of extra units together from left-over figures i.e. an second scout unit and some swordsmen plus a chariot (hero). I've chosen to separate the infantry into separate spear and sword armed units.

Wonder if I'll have these ready for the next Pendraken painting competition?

Cheers, Andy

I'm heading down the same route with Spears and swords.
Look forwards to seeing yours. :)

More photos!

Are you going for 100x50mm bases or a bit smaller?

Splitting the swords and spears is probably a good idea - then if you want to upgrade one unit with shield wall or something you can more easily identify on the table.

Yes I'm using 100x50 bases but not using a large number of Elf infantry on each base to give a "thin blue line" look. At the moment I'm thinking of a blue/white or blue/yellow paint scheme for the uniforms.

I need to find myself some suitable flag designs too.

So much painting to be done and so little free time ! :(

Personally I like Blue and White for Elves.

The thin blue line look should be cool - make the elves look like the few elite warriors, rather than a horde of goblins or undead.

Agreed.
Mine are white drybrush over blue ink wash, them blue shields and trim.
