Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome and spirited responses. I'll keep an eye on the spelling and try to make sure I'm not late to any battles, police actions, skirmishes, wars, etc. ;) As for the accent, I'm actually originally from Virginia, so it's adorable in that Southern sort of way - you know, "Frankly mah dear..." and all that.

All kidding aside, I'm excited to be a part of such an active forum. As I'm sure you all know, many are ghost towns at best or downright troll lairs at worst.

I'm definitely excited to get into Warband in the short term, but the prospect of large scale historical battles is what ultimately drew me to 10mm.

I'm sure you'll hear more from me soon.

May I echo the sentiment of our elder statesman (I mean "elder statesman" in the same way that measles are a "social interaction") in saying that you will fit in nicely. (You may want to read through a few threads, then take a long hard think about what you have become.)

Dive into the historical. Post us some pics of your work.  I'm still waiting for some new member to say "oh, I'm not very good at painting" and then actually not be very good. (i.e. better than I.)

By the way, a warm welcome from me too, JT.  Unfortunately, history, not fantasy, is my thing (so I've yet to experience the allure of Warband  :-[ ).

From Virginia, eh? (Where in Virginia?) Surprised you are not more into historical wargaming than Flames of War. Was first there on holiday (vacation) two years ago (based mainly in Fredericksburg and Williamsburg) and went back again this year (so must have enjoyed it - actually I did). When last in NY, never quite made it to Brooklyn (walked the length of the Brooklyn Bridge but turned back because my feet were aching!).

You should be (and probably are) proud of the historical heritage of your home State - so rich in history - Jamestown settlement (17th C.), Yorktown (18th C.) and the plethora of Civil War battlefields (19 C.). If you should ever venture more into historical wargaming, you should find that Pendraken will meet most (if not all) of your needs for re-fighting the battles from your home State's history.
