I feel your pain. I used Burmese along with Thai, Indonesian/Malay and various Indian and Chinese armies over some years and I must confess that the Burmese gave the best impersonation of road kill  . The reason I think is that there is 'too much and not enough'. Too many elephants and not enough 'good' supporting units to put up a good fight.

The only time they did well was as allies for the Nan Chao  .

Looks like you've got somebody there who will come back for more - and THEN he can fall into your fiendish, Burmese trap .... .

Another army that never worked for me was Khmer, other people swore by them.... I just swore at them

If you supply both armies for games, you should actually give them the full treatment so they are luscious and irresistable  . Also practice a disappointed look when you're opponent chooses the Burmese. This is a real ' Burmese' trap

Sadly other 6mm players have Mongols and Chinese and Indians already, not that I've ever seen them...

They almost always beat the Thais. And fought each other a great deal.

Actually, it was the Thais who let me down; allied off-table flank-marching cavalry never arrived.
