Weather has cooperated wonderfully today, calm 22 degrees Sorry Phil

It has let me prime and base coat my 20 new Kiwi casualties 

I've also managed to varnish and take some pictures of the last batch, including the 10 'extra' Turks
They are wrapped up and will travel in to work with me before being dropped off with one of the organisers

Now food, then back to painting

Don't even know how you're finding time to post on here but then the paint has to dry I suppose.

Indeed the paint has to dry although with 20 figures on the go now the first figure is almost dry by the time I have done the last

Made good progress last night; shirts, pants and flesh done. Did half the puttees this morning before work, the other half will be a different colour to add to variety

The train trip to and from work today will give me a chance to catch up with the forum a bit

Yes it has, the Perrys arrive on Friday to begin assembling the diorama so the dead line was deliberately set a little early

I have until next weekend to get these extra 20 done as I am in Wellington where the exhibit is and can deliver them

The display opens to the public on the 18th so that is the absolute deadline

I have taken and will take some more photos, I will post them once I have time.

Your and others interest in the project has provided very useful encouragement 

Some fool made this comment about a month ago

I do not envy the team from Weta Workshop that will be sorting all these figures out and installing them on the diorama, all 4,000 of them

Weta Workshop have built the diorama, but...

I have now also volunteered to help put the foliage and figures on the diorama which means I will be busy not painting for most of 4th and probably 5th April

It does mean I can deliver these 20 casualties direct to the diorama on 11th & 12th when it will have been installed in it's final home and we can install the figures

I suspect there will be limitations on photography. Weta are very keen to maintain the mystery prior to the official opening

Did the other half of the puttees, hair and boots last night
Got up early this morning and did water bottles and hats on those of the 20 casualties that have them

Webbing or braces tonight and all the figures will have the main colours done, on to touch ups and detailing tomorrow

Must remember to start the metal work on the two discarded rifles as well

Flesh touch ups done 

Final metal work on rifles and more touch ups to do, then ready to wash

Touched up skin wash and a did a couple of missed touched this morning before breakfast 

A couple more washes to do, hopefully tonight and tomorrow, and then highlights on Monday

Today I will be at Weta Workshop working with the Perrys on the diorama for The Great War Exhibition which is part of the National War Memorial Park
