If anyone was interested in gaming this war, I have Mike Embree's book 'Bismark's First War' which I could let you have for £30 + postage.
It is an excellent book, I just never got round to war gaming the period.

As Mollinary would say, are you good enough for the cigar? OK, did anyone spot the musical anachronism in Saturday's episode?
Don't buy your daughters a pony, buy them heroin instead, its cheaper and ultimately less addictive.

No.
Did I really see the retreating Danes get through the Prussian lines by hypnosis?  :o I thought this was a bit silly.

I dont know anything about the period but I am enjoying it
If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

Well then, I suppose you are referring to the playing of the Koniggratzer Marsch?  But then, what is one minor error among so many? I bet you didn't even notice the succession of howlers committed in the pickelhauben department?  :o  :o

Correct, give the man a cigar (preferably of the cheap variety  :P )

Well I am a couple of episodes behind but am enjoying it so far. I am thinking of recreating some of its more idiosyncratic and charming vignettes in 6mm. Someone surely does suitable figures.

Chris, have a look at Irregular's Piedmontese infantry from their Italian Wars of Liberation range. Here thjey are masquerading as WWI Belgians:

Being in Turkey I cannot watch it on BBC 4:( Weird thing, they let us foreign devils enjoy all the radio stuff, but not the TV stuff. I did watch some of it via Zenmate (shame on me), which I had to get for those phases when the president of this country goes on one of his "no access to facebook-youtube-twitter" etc rampages, but now I cannot proxy being in the UK. Providence is telling me not to commit crimes :p

The metaphysical elements were a bit off, but the battles and the interaction of the modern girl and old man made up for them. Also the actor who plays the metaphysical element guy is a great actor, so meh, I forgive them .

In the pub last night, I learned from a beermat that the Carlsberg brewery was founded in Copenhagen in 1847. So it seems that a year after Danes start drinking a lot of Carlsberg lager, the First Schleswig War breaks out in 1848. I am surprised that no historian of the Schleswig wars has commented on this rather obvious connection. Post hoc ergo propter hoc. Bloody Big Bottles, anyone?

PS @Leman: thanks for the tip, but I was thinking of some of the less military, more bucolic interludes. Do Irregular make a 1/300 scale cow?
