Something like the blue checkered flag in this blog post?

I did worry that some one would suggest checks.

I think I like the idea of the red eagle / dragon, I will see what decals I have, before attempting free hand.

Afraid of checks?  :P

fred.

Yep, not keen on checks. But I do quite like cheques. And I don't think I've ever met a Czech...

Anyway.

Final bits of tidying up on these chaps - (unless the photos show missed bits)

Flag to finish off, obviously. Not sure if I want to give them a brown wash or not?

I'm with Will.

They're really 'punchy' just as they are.

Thanks chaps. No wash it is then - keep them nice and bright.

Have to have a better rummage for the decals tonight as I couldn't find the heraldic ones last night, just lots of aircraft roundals.

Yeah, no wash - they look vibrant and punchy and nice as is!

Good job, on nice figures - I keep wanting to order some of them, but the price is a bit steep. *Really* tempted by the arquebusiers though. Can never have too many arquebusiers...

I'm going to go with the opposite! Thin black wash (like Nuln Oil from GW), and then go over the colors with a highlight!

You are probably right Leon, but I'm kind of focusjng on producing units at the minute, rather than top quality.

Stuck the figures on bases, and a bit of work on the flag - couldn't find a dragon decal, but went with a wing

Was there ever anything like that level of uniformity?

Among Fantasy troops? If you want there to be, of course!

Thanks chaps.

Regarding uniformity - as I says it's a Fantasty unit, rather than an historical one. And Fantasty armies do seem to end up much more uniform. Mine are pretty rag-tag when compared with others in my group. One of the guys has Orc, Rat and Chaos armies all of which show a degree of uniformity which would please a Guards Sergeant Major.

I tend to go for a degree of common colour within units, and commands. But still mix it up a bit. There is also a practical side, it's much easier to distinguish units on the table when the troops have consistent colours, and it's quicker to paint the unit with fewer colours.

In no way was I trying to dictate policy to you. Just took them for Landsknechts, and was puzzled by the limited palette.
