That's it for another year then. ;)

Hope everyone had a great time !.....We did....'Cos we didn't bother with a 'proper' Christmas din-dins.....Which saved all the rushing about...and SO much time.
Three microwaveable Turkey Christmas meals......Some Yorkshire puds......and bread sauce.....And it was nearly as good as anything we've ever done in the oven over the years.
(It was better than last year's anyway  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D......I made a right old mess of that one  :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[)

No point in going the 'whole hog'......Mother in law eats like a sparrow.....Mrs T's got to avoid 'fat' as much as poss......And I wasn't going to do anything over the top for just myself.
(Traditionally I always cook at Christmas....That's gone forever now.....HUZZAH !!!)

Only thing I forgot, was to watch Dr Who....But that's on again in a few minutes.....Back soon.

Cheers - Phil

(Strike that...It's on at 8 this evening.....Not this morning....Back to some DVDs then !)

Well in my opinion Phil it was really weird. At the time it was shown it was clearly intended as family fare. What the average child would have made of it goodness only knows. Nice one with the Christmas dinner; a much over rated scoff.

I had a quiet day (after sharing two bottle of wine and two bottles of port with my daughter on Christmas eve, this was not unexpected) and spent the day reading my pressies. Most surprising was "From  Musket to Metallic Cartridge" by Oyvind Flatnes. Christmas dinner was chicken soup.

Watched Dr Who. Best thing about it is that that awful Pink fellow is dead, dead, dead, and that (spoiler alert) Jenna Coleman is staying! Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah!

Techno, when you say your mother in law eats like a sparrow, do you mean she sucks up worms in a field?

I should be prepping for a belated Christmas lunch with my children, daughter-in-law and parents. A tradition started when my ex and I split. She had the kids on Christmas Day and I had them on Boxing Day. Alas, for various reasons of work and illness, I'm making lunch for three (self and parents) with enough food in the fridge to have fed the original number at least twice over.

I watched Dr Who last night and really enjoyed it. Exactly the sort of romp I want to see from the show. At last! New monsters! Even if they are filched from Alien/ Half-Life!! A shame that Danny Pink had to wait until he was dead to get a believable story-line.

I'll try and remember to watch it tonight !! ;D ;D......Christmas dinner ?...Like I said.....Just SO much easier with what we did this year....Gives you more time to chill out doing it the way we did......A lot less 'stress', and just as enjoyable, nosh wise.

Well.....I don't know about the "eating worms" bit......But we have to watch her like hawks.  =)

Well...At least we haven't gone as berserk as usual on the food front this year.......(Don't you feel guilty when you end up 'binning' a lot of it !!)
New monsters......HUZZAH !!

Binning? What's to bin. Plate normally well and truly cleared in this house! Left-overs in the pan/ oven get re-used over the next few days - brussels sprout Bubble & Squeak anyone?

Just rewarded myself for painting 120 Dreyse Needle guns with warm mince pie and brandy cream (OK, they were 6mm). Leftovers bubble and squeak tomorrow, curry at daughter's this evening.

Why did you paint Dreyse Needle Gus with warm mince pie and brandy cream? Totally wrong colours surely?

A belated Happy Christmas to you all!!

The last few days have been great, but really rather busy!!

Santa was good to me. On the gaming front I got a big pile of Copplestone 10mm and a box of the Perry Mounted Men at Arms. Several books, including Lion Rampant, a couple of classic Ospreys on Sudan and the new style Osprey versus with British Infantryman vs Zulu warrior, this is a very nice format which gives a good mix of the campaign, equipment and uniforms.
