Those are superb. Really really great looking figures. Wonder how many will appreciate they are 10mm in the competition?

Thank you both.

So far everyone who's left a comment on the post has appreciated that they're 10mm - one gentleman referred to them as "tiny blobs" so he definitely appreciates the scale (though not the sculpts)  :)

No, they've been well received and a couple of people have mentioned an interest in 10mm for future purchases, so I'll keep banging "Pendraken Miniatures" into posts and they should come to Leon  ;D

Rimmer: "Well, we didn't use it all, Lister. Who did?"

Lister: "Rimmer, aliens used our bog roll?"

My plugging of Pendraken MDF bases might just be working, if today's development on the Challenge's website is any indication.

You'll all notice the huge advertising for another companies MDF bases [they're sponsoring a specific days of blogging, it seems]

Brilliant! I'm Don Draper. Now where's my saucy secretary?! ;D ;D

Another Minibits' base being being put to good use:

Still working on this - I think I've been too generous with the battle damage to the shield? Maybe just a slash! Anyway, I've asked a few people I know who are up on these things, so I'll no doubt find out soon.

Lovely bit of work Roy ;)

Personally, I like the shield damage; you've done it really well.
Buy plenty of Matron's sculpts now!

If he keeps using the chainsaw, the value of his work will soon go up.

Thank you.

I wasn't sure how a shield design / paintwork would appear when battle damaged. Mainly as to what covered the wood, as if it was simply paint then I don't think it would have appeared as I've painted it.

So far I've been told that shields could have the designs painted straight onto the wood. Leather hides attached with a design painted onto the leather. In some instances fabrics or silks being used to cover a shield and the design applied to these materials.

I like it and so do the others who've commented, so that's all that matters really.

Thanks again.

Yeah, only thing is I've now got to give it away and ship it to Canada (when finished that is)  :(

The painting challenge blog thing runs through early December to late March.
During that time one man is running the whole logistics of it all and sorting out all the points calculations and votes that are all part of the challenge. It's his baby, if you know what I mean.
When you agree to take part, you agree to the fact that their is a payment to be made, which is in the form of a 28mm figure painted by yourself and fitting into the overall theme of that years event.
This figure is sent off to the man who organises it all (he's some sort of archivist / record keeper by trade) and they join the 'museum' of payment figures he's amassed over the last few years.
As a participant there is various incentives to take part; the increased publicity to your blog / painting service (whatever) and the chance to win hobby items throughout the challenge, items donated by the companies that support it.

Cracking idea ;)

I'm not 100% happy with the violet bikini, as it looks like it's made from PVC. So it may be repainted in the future. Also, the black 'woman's' left shoulder needs tidying up.

Love it!

Personally, I see nothing wrong with a PVC bikini and she's toting an AK, so who's going to argue? ;)
