Mine is a crafter, mostly cross stitch, crotchet and knitting, so trips to hobbycraft are a dangerous dangerous time for this family. Same with bookstores and anywhere selling boardgames.

My wife is a modeller (and somewhat better than me) who specialises in dolls houses. Now, if only I could get her to paint figures....

Reminds me of a sketch featuring the late Rikki Fulton (Scottish actor/comedian). Wife is in bed and he brings her an aspirin and a glass of water.
She says, "What's that for?"
"For your headache." Rikki replied.
"But I don't have a headache."
Rubbing his hands, he jumps into bed - "Ya beauty!!!!"   :D :d ;D ;)

My missus is named Karen and she has trouble translating Brum English into proper English let alone into Arapho or even Arapaho.  :) :)

Or get the appropriate scale of figure for her doll houses and game some street fighting...

Go straight in from the start. I told my dear wife right from the off over 40 years ago. Told it kept me off the streets and out of pubs etc (except our club met above a pub). Having been married now to Britains own version of Emedla Marcos for 41 years, we've settled down to a no questions asked on the handbag, shoes, figures front. Although she admits that the Seven Years War figures are ;) pretty.

When my wife finally gets round to assembling her Dolls House I have a item for it.  I've worked out that a 2mm block is the scale version of 28mm.  I'm thinking a tiny Waterloo game in there.

You could Change the game on a regular basis, Would look really good.

Dolls houses are either 1/12th or 1/24th scale. Even at the smaller scale you'd probably need the local playing-field for a decent-sized town. And a huge fistful of cash....  :D

Actually there is a large community working with 1/144 dolls' houses. Most are more expensive than wargame quality houses so I don't buy them. but there is a vast range of information out there. I came across them when I was looking for 1/144 oriental rugs (don't ask):-

The important thing to remember is to not let them know that you are a wargamer, if you do the stock and information tend to melt away  :).

Most of the kits are American Victoriana but there are types that are useful.

Something to tempt the ladies - have them rebuild Coronation Street in 1/144 - and then use it in a  VBCW scenario  :D :D.
