Salutations to all!

I have recently started with some other gentlemen in Istanbul collecting troops for the Russo-Turkish War of 1877. As ksimet would have it, I shall be the Russians. We decided to go for 10mm and use Pendraken's excellent range.

You can find pics of my first Russians (URRAAAHHH!) here

We are using Black Powder to play the game, and it has also been my task to build the Army Lists for the war. The first version of these you can find here http://phdleadhead.blogspot.com.tr/p/rules-iii-russo-ottoman-war-of-1877.html in html format and here https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2fGZCt6fJeCUDRjNmVXOGNySk0/view?usp=sharing in illustrated PDF.

A second version is under development. I must stress that they are geared more towards gaming and less towards simulation. Feel free to use them and tell me how it went and suggest changes.

Very nice work sir.  8)
Maybe some sand and PVA on bases to blend them in?

Welcome on barod and look forward to seeing how this develops. Nice to see one of the more neglected conflicts getting a run out :).

Welcome, Friend Travlos.

BP army lists? Didn't realise they did them. Must be a Shell game, a touch Essoteric for my tastes.  Still, nice painting, a Gulf away from mine - Total success. Do I see a Chevron on an arm there? Did you paint that Exxon the flag?

Thank you all

I should had said Black Powder, Opened up myself there did not I  :P That said I am sure there is some BP and Chevron product somewhere there :p

I am not sure if I will flock them. There is not really that much space on the squares left for flocking and I of half a mind to follow the 1859/1866/1870 rule's writers convention which is not flocked bases.

Painted some hussars, but I want to wait to paint the second cavalry before putting on pictures. Also built two hills and a redoubt.

Even if you don't flock those bases need some texture and paint.

They look like 20mm squares which is what I use for my SYW Fossil Fuel Granule games too.

Definitely more than enough space to texture and flock: mine can be seen here:

Finished bases are a must. Poor painting on good bases looks much better than excellent painting on poor bases.

I see your point sirs. Well off to steal some playgrounds sand!

And sir, your painting is simply too much I must protest. It is unfair for one to have such skill! :D

@FSN: I think your comments were lost in the fuel vapours; you must have been sniffing too much leaded petrol recently.

@KTravlos: I quite like the clean bases (very retro) - perhaps just clean them up with a coat of paint?
