The Prussians did not deploy any 12pdrs in the FPW, only 6pdr and 4pdr Krupp rifled guns.  They did, however, have a shed load of them in 1866. These were modern, short, light, smooth bore shell guns, which equipped the Horse Artillery and some of the Corp Reserve Batteries.

Ummmm sorry  I meant then.

Any model suggestions?

Right,

This is a bit odd, cos my failing memory thought that there was one in the Prussian range!  If not, then I think the dozens of these I have are probably the 12pdr in the Bavarian range.  Prussians, Bavarians and Saxons all deployed these new fangled machines designed to make up for the poor canister performance of the rifled guns.  Leon might be able to remember what I ordered!

You are a champ.

There is one in the 1st Holstein range so maybe that with Prussian crew.

Or I will just ask Leon.

Cheers

Leon

The ones for Mollinary were the Bavarian ones with Prussian crew, so we can do that for you, no bother at all.

I would go for the later Bavarian one. The earlier one should be of the older, heavier, variety - although I don't actually own any of them.

I asked Leon for Wurtemburg 12 pdrs with 1870 Prussian artillery crews, which he was quite happy to do.

That is odd, DP, as there does not appear to be a 12pdr in the Wurttemburg range!   :-\

Apologies, it was the Saxon smoothbore, which is in fact a bronze 12 pdr., as also used by the Prussians in 1866.

For some reason I thought the Prussian 12pdr shell guns were iron not bronze.

Not that I know of, but I have heard that both Bavarian and Brunswick Krupps breachloaders were cast in bronze. Needless to say mine are steel.

Maybe they were bronze but then darkened like the French did?  :P
