Zombie flicks always ignore the fact that any zombie apocalypse can be avoided by an armoured company just driving around the city for a couple of hours.

S-fi always seems to neglect armour. Starship troopers really bugged* me. They have spaceships that can traverse the galaxy but the best they can give their troops on the ground is a rifle and a pair of boots.

Most "sci fi" you're referring to there is Vietnam in spaaaaaaace and generally the stereotype of the least actual likely in country rents at that. Except for Hammers Slammers, which is also Vietnam in Spaaaaaaace but from the POV of an armoured cavalry unit

I reckon there's a good idea for an Ogre or Bolo film though...
