I was looking to perhaps paint some Belgians and was thinking of some foot without Kepi in the more standard Belgian WWI hat (sorry not sure what it is called). I know another company makes them in 10mm but I try to use Pendraken almost exclusively just love the figures. Does anyone have any thoughts about other figures from different ranges I can use? I was thinking perhaps APW Austrians or the Canadian malitia figures?

Use the 1866 Austrians, which are excellent figures, come in advancing and firing poses and have casualty figures. All are in the greatcoat and shako with short gaiters; just the job.

Fantastic had a feeling they would work. I love the new 19th century figures. I may even press a few of the 1870 French into service in 1914.

Reading this I found myself thinking...

I wonder how the Belgian units would be organised in ITLSU   :o =;

I must resist temptation  O:-)

I'm certainly going to have a go at Belgians once my British and Germans are up and running. I will be using the 1866 Austrians and I may do some head swaps with Germans in feldmutze to get some Belgian guardsmen. Still going to need to resource some Minervas from somewhere though.

Belgians for WWI are strangely tempting.
