Hi, Is there a set size boardyou use for 10mm ? Iam going to
make some terrain boards or 10mm but was wonderingif there
was a set size. Paul.

I play BKCII on a 6'x4' table. For Dux Bellorum, on a 2'x2' or 3'x2' table. These are pretty much my default sizes for games. Hope this helps?

chalkie

Cheers Steve, yeh it does thanks.

Paul.

chalkie

So what size would you recommend for AWI & Napoleonics , ACW  ?

Steve J

I would play on a 6'x4', with Black Powder as my preferred ruleset, for AWI, Nappies etc.

chalkie

Well you've sorted that for me mate.

Cheers.

Paul.

We play a lot of Pike & Shotte and Black Powder using an 8' x 5' table

Thats a big table , you must field a very large force for that though , yes ? if anyone has any pics of there boards or tables I would love to see them out of curiosity.

If your rules are 'written for 28mm' with inch movement - use cms with 10mm.  The equivalent of a 6 x 4' table becomes 72cm x 48 cm.
I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

We use 6'x4' a lot for 10mm, but also often use 9'x6' at my mate's.

We often play multi-player on the bigger table size, or really big armies.

I don't think there is anything like a standard table size. 6'x4' is probably the closest.

If you are making terrain boards I would probably go for 2'x2' and then they can be joined up to make bigger sizes.

I play 10mm on 2x2, 4x3, 4x4 and 6x4 boards

ronan

hello
my board is almost always 6'' x 4''
We often convert inches to 2 cm ( 1'' = 2cm  instead of 2,54cm) It's easy for us, and the ranges are good.
We mainly play CoC, BKC, Might and Reason ( and some house rules for naval WW2 )

Thats great lads, thanks. The modular boards are 2*2 but just wanted to know the average table for this scale but you have given me more scope with the various sizes you use.

very helpful, cheers,

Paul .
