First in a self-motivational series documenting my ECW army build.  Irregular and potentially uninteresting to all perhaps, but a reason for me to Get it Done!!!

Part 1: glue men to coffee stirrers.  I undercoat black, by hand.  On Mondays.  Watch this space for the next exciting instalment.

Oh, Plastic.....
You've given away the plot of the next episode ! ;)

Look forward to seeing them progress.  :)

Good luck and looking forward to seeing progress on this. I've tried something similar on the motivation front, but frankly it has failed miserably for me :'(.

Update: to avoid the aforementioned spoilers, I've just under coated them.  Black.  With a brush.  No need for pictures.  Next episode - The Forest of Death.  Or brown.

FierceKitty

May I ask why you undercoat by hand? I'd have thought life was too short not to use aerosols.

I never feel like I'm entirely in control with spray paint.  The paint's either too warm, or too cold, or it's too windy, or it's raining, or it's dark ( don't have a garage, so have to spray paint outside).  With a big brush and watered-down black paint, it takes me seven seconds to undercoat a figure.  That, and I find it to be rather zen.  My job is quite random, and I never know what I'll be doing day-to-day, so it's nice to sit down to a repetitive task in the evening sometimes.

I am thinking of having 'Life is too short not to use aerosols' put on a t-shirt though!

I wish I felt entirely in control when I use a brush!

I've had some unpleasantness when using spray paint - I think I'm just a bit clumsy when it comes to machinery!  I always seem to miss bits as well.  A friend of mine undercoats with white spraypaint and can't understand my methods at all.

Sorry, but neither of you are in control, I AM.

used to use an airbrush to undercoat, found it didn't give the needed coverage.

Never been able to get full coverage with a can - armpits and crotch often a problem (if someone doesn't run with that then the forum has been hijacked by Martians)

I haven't used spray undercoat for donkeys; had the same problem but both tablets and changing to a brush method of application sorted it out.

Plus spray undercoat for 10mm, just as fast with a brush so whats the point?.

I'd like to think the suspense of finally seeing something painted is going to be worth the wait.

No donkeys in my ECW army, so we're okay.  Ahem.  Sorry.
I'll try to get some work done on these when I get in from work.  Should have pictures up laters.
No, I definitely don't spend my time at work reading the Pendraken forum...

I fear it won't be.

I suppose that Scottish lancers were mounted on donkeys or equivalent nags?
I don't drink coffee to wake up. I wake up to drink coffee.

Ithoriel

They're mounted on haggises and so can only charge on mountainside and in the correct direction, on account of the legs.
