Thanks.  I'm really taking my time with these.  I tried to vary the colour of trousers, hats, etc, 'cos most of the coats will all be a variation of off-white.  There's something perverse about painting that much detail onto something so tiny that really appeals.

I am sure they are brilliant, but they just look to me like men seen on a dark night from about a hundred yards away!   :-\ :-\

Try resting them on a sheet of white paper to photo

Will do when I get home from work.  I photographed them late last night and was getting too much glare against a white background under the electric lights.  I'll take a picture while the sun's still up.

fred.

A white background can be very hard to photograph against - the camera will see all the white and cut down the exposure time, leaving the figures as dark blobs.

Try going with a medium coloured background - a green cutting mat works pretty well.

They look good in the second photo but it's hard to tell :(. Look forward to some 'better' pics soon, fingers crossed. But then I'm no David Bailey so can't criticise others attempts :-[.

Fingers crossed

Do you use a camera to call your friends?  :D

Friends?  I play with toy soldiers.  And spend summer Sunday afternoons indoors painting 1 cm high figures.

So, 5 months after exposing the inside of my head, I felt like my concentration levels might extend to some musketeers from Denzil Holles' regiment at Edgehill.

Looking good, that man!
