Just watched this last night on BBC3 :

Really good.   Focuses on the defence of the Mons Canal and switches between a birds eye view
and reconstructed action.   Even knowing that this is a limited reconstruction, it brought home
the insane courage required to offer resistance under a hail of bullets.   Looking forward to the
rest of this series as I felt that it brought our current consideration of WWI to life and away from
grainy B&W pics.

Just watched that programme on Mons. Quite surprised to see the first German prisoner was a hussar. Extremely well put together reconstruction.
