GP40 WWI German Limbers

Hi Chaps - anyone put together the new GP40 WWI German Limbers?

How do the crew figures fit on? I can't seem to work out where they go, the angle of their legs doesn't quite seem to fit, and at the front there is a cast on bag in the foot area which complicates things further.

From looking at photos I think the crew should be sitting at the front facing forwards.

I have clipped off the two extra 'axles' towards the front, as otherwise the wheels don't fit on, and from photos can't seem to see that they represent a real feature?

If it's from WWI, it needs two wing-levels (or a lot of friends who fit the description) to engage me. Sorry.
