It's time to announce the prizes, and this year we've got over £500 worth of fantastic goodies on offer from some fantastic companies!

So, in each category there will be a winner and a runner-up, and each of those lucky folk will receive the following:

- The Winner of each category will receive £20 worth of Pendraken credit!
- The Runner-Up of each category will receive £10 worth of Pendraken credit!

In addition to the Pendraken prizes, there are also some special category-specific prizes, very kindly donated from our generous sponsors:

Foot - Pre-20th C. - A copy of both 'Hail Caesar' and 'Black Powder', donated by Warlord Games.

Hail Caesar
Hail Caesar is written by the hugely talented Rick Priestley who is something of an expert in Ancients gaming.  Partly because of his studying in antiquities but some would say that it's also because he was there for the most part.

Black Powder
Black Powder is a game for the militarily inclined gentlemen with straight backs, bristling beards and rheumy eyes that have seen a thing or two. If tales of battle and glory in days-gone-by stir nothing in your breast, if the roar of cannon does not quicken the pulse and set fire in the belly, then this is not the rule set for you.

For more info on this and their other offerings, head over to the Warlord Games website: http://www.warlordgames.com/

Foot - 20th C. - A goody bag from Warbases!

"Warbases are proud to support the Pendraken 2014 Painting Competition, visit our website at www.warbases.co.uk for a comprehensive range of bases, trays, building kits, wagons and general wargaming accessories."

For more info head over to the Warbases website: http://www.warbases.co.uk/

BONUS - As an extra prize, the runner-up in the category will receive a copy of Bolt Action, Warlord Games' WWII ruleset!

Mounted - £25 Voucher from Colonel Bill's Wargames Depot!

"Colonel Bill's is where the discerning collector and wargamer can recruit the figures he needs from our huge stocks of painted and unpainted 'used' items. Many of these items are rare or out of production."

For more info, go and visit the Colonel: http://www.colonelbills.com/

Vehicle - Subscription to "Miniature Wargames with Battlegames"!

"Miniature Wargames with Battlegames, the spirit of wargaming. The only magazine in the UK to cover all aspects of wargaming, in all scales, in all genres."

For more info, head over to their website: http://www.atlanticpublishers.com/magazines/miniature-wargames/

BONUS - The runner-up in this category will also receive an electronic subscription to Miniature Wargames with Battlegames as well!

Fantasy & Sci-Fi - £20 voucher, courtesy of Wargames Emporium!

"Wargames Emporium is situated in the Heart of Sheffield, located in Orchard Square up in the craft shops.  The store stocks a wide range of products for all your gaming needs, ranging from GHQ to Essex Miniatures, Games Workshop to Peter Pig to name a few, also stockists of Osprey books, Miniature paints, Scenery and Dice.  As well as the above there is a large selection of second hand items from all the above ranges.  The stock is increasing all the time so if you are in the area it will be well worth a visit.  Wargames Emporium can also be seen at all of the major UK shows."

BONUS - The runner-up in this category will also receive a Village Set from Total Battle Miniatures!

Pendraken would like to thank all of the companies who have donated prizes to the competition this year, please take a minute to check their websites and see what they have to offer!

Finally, as always, there will be the 'People's Choice' award, sponsored by 'Minibits'!  This year though we'll be changing the name slightly, so we'd like to announce the 'Aart Brouwer People's Choice Award'  Last year, the Forum lost one of it's most popular and active members, and a lot of folk suggested it would be nice to remember him this way.  I hope everyone gets involved and places their votes when this goes live after the main competition.

This Award works by taking any of the remaining entries which received at least 1 point during the judging stage, and putting them to the vote here on the Forum, with the person who gets the most votes winning a £25 voucher for anything from the Minibits website: http://www.minibits.net/

Thanks for reading, and good luck to everyone!

The Aart award is most welcome and a fitting tribute. His contribution to the forum was always laced with humility, humour and witty banter. =D> =D> =D> =D>

I wont be entering this year as I haven't had the time to paint any 10mm loveliness for ages due to work and studies, but wanted to wish everyone luck and look forward to casting my votes ;)
I don't think my wife likes me very much, when I had a heart attack she wrote for an ambulance.
