I'm always amazed how regular those round shields are. They wouldn't be drawing pin heads, would they?

I don't drink coffee to wake up. I wake up to drink coffee.

I really hope these new Gauls will fit in with the old Early Imperial Romans so that I can do 43AD with my current Italian lads.

The round shields look handmade to me. Check out a ordinary drawing pin, they're usually huge compared to a 10mm figure. I know this because I had the same idea as you the first time I had to make a 10mm shield!

No Ray....
I've got a series of different sized bits of brass tubing, which I've 'sharpened' on the inside with a conical shaped burr.
I simply roll out a thin sheet of one of the harder putties and then use the appropriate sized tubing as a sort of mini pastry cutter.
Let it set...Sand it down to an appropriate thickness....And you can usually simply push the round shield(s) out of the rest of the putty.
The edge might need a tiny bit of neatening with fine glass paper sometimes....But job done !

Sorry Ray.  ;D ;D ;D ;D
Same as most things.....When you see the easiest ways to do them....... ;)

I should have made it sound far more complex, shouldn't I ?  ;D ;D ;D

So, more than a year later, and still no Gauls?

Leon should be back tomorrow, Phobos.
I'm sure he'll give you an update.

I've just gone on half a contract at work so moulding speeds will be increased (plus bought second mould press).

Both the Romans and the Gauls are due to go into a master mould together in August and then we can get started on some production moulds.  We've got to get the final Nap British moulds done first, along with some more Warband ranges.

Have you had any orders yet from the Berlin Bunker for new mass battle fantasy armies. If AH is anything to go by there must be a lot of unhappy bunnies out there. I believe he's also not pleased with his new flat in Sunderland?
