Well I'm hoping the Cataract in the left eye is bad enough to need an op then should be able to get rid of glasses.

Best wishes for the op, when it comes.

You'll likely still need glasses, just different ones.  I found that the lens that got inserted seem to focus from about 12-15 inches out into the distance. If I go to Lords I can comfortably read the scoreboard on the far side, and beyond. The close-in stuff isn't blurred but it just lacks a little sharpness; you can read, just not fine print.  I'm sitting here typing this in a pair of +1 over-the-counter reading glasses from Boots and wear a pair of +3 to paint.

But yes, I find the liberation from glasses for driving, watching sport, TV and life in general amazing, having worn glasses and/or contact lenses for 60 years. I hope your experience will be equally thrilling.

I was looking at the Pendraken catalogue and thought these hastati looked like two pteradactyls having a chat. Now I can't unsee it.

I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.
