I suppose I ought to put a plug in for my 'home' club.
Milton Keynes Wargames Club
Meet at York House, Stoney Stratford, Every Thursday 7-11pm.

We play many different things (but I'd love to get more 10mm players involved).
We also run Campaign in the Middleton Hall each year, 12 & 13 May 2012. http://www.mkws.org.uk/index.php?s=campaign

Hi Mad Lemmy

Stoney Stratford is about 20 miles away from me - I looked at the MKWC website - dominated by competition players - ugh  >:(
I used to be in the Oxford club - but I could never find the time to be a regular member.

Increasingly interested in 10mm ....maybe when the weather is kinder and the evenings lighter we could meet up....

BTW - distinct posibility that I may organise a regular monthly game at my local - The Gatehanger's Inn, Ashendon, Bucks.

Best regards

That's because the competition players hog the camera! There are others of us who don't!

Whiteoak - that would be only 25 minutes from me!
I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

Does anyone know Barry Windsor? A friend of mine from many years ago ... based in Stoney Stratford and wargames everything.

Still going strong, a very good friend of mine, pops in and plays occasionally, but due to working hard finds it difficult to get down to us in time. He still lives in Stoney, but games most weekends with Bedford Gladiators

Hi Whiteoak,

I'm in Oakley about 7 miles from Ashendon. Yes I'm afraid MKWS is horrendously competition-oriented though there's a small historical faction there. I'm always happy to try another local pub.

We are tryin to be less competition based, but it takes a lot to shift some of the more conservative members, they can move at tectonic pace!  ;)

They're not that fast, except when a new set of lists is released  ;)
