That's the kiddie, Forbes !

The very first 'mini drill' I had way back when, only had two speeds......Off and full blast.
I used a little transformer to vary that one......So I thought the 'dimmer' ought to work.
Hadn't seen one that you could put a mains plug into, until I had a ferret around the other day.

It was only around a fiver.....So if it does burn out eventually, I don't mind buying another one.

Cheers - Phil

I've got about 8 or 10 speeds on my wire-free Dremel -shows how often I use it nowadays- varying from slow and sedate all the way up to to BLOOOOODDDDDYYYY HHHEEELLL!!! as the thing screams like a demented banshee on drugs! I've never had it up to full revs, which is lucky as I would probably lose my hearing and the local canine population would do a runner for the nearest hills -in this case the North Downs!

I've supposedly got umpteen adjustable speeds on mine.

The slowest speed WAS behaving itself up until a couple of days ago, but then seemed to speed up drastically, to WAY faster than I wanted.
I've got a feeling that a tiny piece of white metal has got into the works, and is making the variable connection jump to 'middle speed' straight away.

I'd take it apart and give it a clean, but the last time I did that with an old Dremel, I had SO much trouble getting it back together.......(Parts 'jumped out'.).....That I thought I'd try the dimmer switch option first.

Don't really want to buy a new one, if I can get this one to work as I want.

Cheers - Phil

Thirteen of the fifteen pancerni finished were finished a couple of weeks ago but now struggling a bit with painting mojo for the officer and bunczuk bearer since my gall bladder removal op last week. Did a bit last night so it's on it's way back.

Bets of luck Subedai. I had it done a few years ago. I asked if there was anything that I should avoid eating and they said "well you'll soon find out".

Sadly I found my tolerance to alcohol went through the floor.

Thanks for the kind words all.

Hmmm, I was told that I might have to watch my intake of fatty foods a bit but apart from that no other dietary advice at all. Bit of a bugger as I am quite partial to a bab and chips. Physically I am fine, walking around like a goodun and everything so well on the mend.

Taking it easy is simple, taking it easier is difficult. I mean walking from my computer desk to my painting table is all of two steps.  :D :D

It's Ma Subs I feel sorry for, poor bu**er has had a pain in her hip for a while and has trouble getting around without a stick, luckily she has a scan tomorrow which hopefully will tell us something, if not it's back to the vets for another plan of action. In reality, she is much worse off than I am and has been carrying problems that should have been sorted out years ago but she kept getting fobbed off by the vets in Brum. It was only when we moved down here that things started happening for the better. So if you've got two of them, cross 'em tomorrow afternoon, as they say.

Walls and roofs done on some Southern European buildings from Leven Miniatures. Detailed parts to be done later. All for Custozza in a few weeks time, all being well...

Eight Light Company Victorix Peninsular Brits made up. Took about 90 minutes, and my basic force requires four such groups. They look good, and I have put them away now so that I can get on and finish the Langensalza project. My next 10mm project is some way off now and it will be a Russian SYW army, followed by some Italian Wars stuff, by which time genitors and mounted arquebusiers may be available.
