I've just put up an AAR on my new Blog of a solo game I played on Saturday night. Miniatures are all Pendraken, a mix of WWI British and German, with WWII Italians.

Thanks for the comments guys . For those who don't have a good map shop nearby, that sterling Gentleman Nik Harwood Esq sent me the following link, which has the same maps as well as ones for 1940, just perfect for Operation Sealion.

Having perused my map yesterday, I noticed that there were army barracks in Horfield on the outskirts of Bristol. So the next scenario will probably be a small counter attack of regular army forces supported by a nice WWI tank (or two) to put the wind up the BUF forces. With luck I may even get the game in this week as I'm on holiday.

Great link, that sorts out why my neighbour has a wired garden shape, it existed as an orchard before my row of houses was built (in 1887)...
It will also explain the sheer amount of agricultural archaeology I keep getting out of my veg patch!

Looks like nobody had mapped Middlesbrough before 1940...     Can't blame them like...

The label says 1948 for central Middlesbrough, and 1958 as you get over to the Eston area.  Not sure on the accuracy though, cos all the industry isn't shown on it, when Dave's certain it was there before '58?

Pretty sure that the accuracy of the maps in those days depended on how many pubs the suveyor had visited ....... Plus of course the early GPS was always playing up 

Seriously though, gaming local areas, and researching local 'characters' is half the fun of VBCW.
